College Consortium
Students from ten different academic institutions had come together, with the dream of making India's First Pico-Satellite. To turn this dream into a reality ISRO had already helped them with guidance and mentoring; now, the students turned to their institutions seeking funds and other essential support, envisaging a support system formed of the Academic Institutions.
Initially, from being reluctant, to being amused, the institutions finally had reflections of the students' dream in their vision. Seven out of the ten colleges agreed to fund the project. Although, three institutions retracted, the students from these institutions held on to the project, with all the more passion.
The seven participating colleges, from two states of India agreed to form a consortium. The bondage which had brought distant and diverse students with a common vision, now had percolated into the Academic Institutions, and they complied to form a consortium, with Nitte Meenakshi Institiute of Technology as their lead representative.
This body of colleges now is the support system of the Project, by contributing funds, resources and easing the academic stringency on the involved students to see the collective dreams of students and the institutions come to life.
