On Board Command and Data Handling:

Vigneswaran K:

College: BMS Institute of Technology, Bangalore.
Involvement and Contribution to the team:
One of the senior members of the project team and part of the initial STUDSAT team before its expansion, he has contributed immensely in the design of the On-Board Command and Data Handling system having contributed in all design stages, design of the communication protocol and the design of the communication handling in the Ground Station side. Design of the Communication protocol and the handling of the communication modules with common clock and data pins, data rate manipulation based on the satellite link margin were some of the highlights of project STUDSAT.

Avinash G. S:

College: M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore.
Involvement and Contribution to the team:
Involved in the team for around a year, and an embedded system buff, he has contributed to the design of the Scheduler based operating system handling the complex inter-operation of the several modules and peripherals of the satellite through a single sequenced scheduler. Designing the OS without the aid of an RTOS, and using custom device drivers for the controller platform was one of the highlights of project STUDSAT. With a major design change in the satellite hardware architecture, the contributions of all the members became all the more important at that stage.

Pavan D:

College: R. V. College of Engineering, Bangalore.
Involvement and Contribution to the team:
Commonly known as 'hyperterminal' among the team members, he has worked on all the electronics and communication related issues. His contribution to the team is in the unique design of file structures and the on-board lossless image compression sequence using DPCM. Most importantly its implementation under constraints of power and computation time was a real challenge and one of the highlights of the project STUDSAT. Also the image decompression at the Ground Stations is another of his contributions.

Prithviraj N:

College: R. V. College of Engineering, Bangalore.
Involvement and Contribution to the team:
One of the serious contributors to the project STUDSAT, and a space buff, he was responsible for the complete design and handling of the payload system by the central controller, one of the most complex systems to handle and design the device drivers and application software for. As he said "When I captured the first image of myself, and saw myself on the screen, it was one of the greatest moments since my involvement in the team". An all-weather man, his contribution to the team is in aiding the designing of the OS and preparing the PCB schematics at various stages.

Darshan Hedge:

College: R. V. College of Engineering, Bangalore.
Involvement and Contribution to the team:
Commonly known as "Cartoon Character" among the teammates, Darshan hedge is a 3rd year student from R.V.C.E. He was one the persons responsible in developing the device drivers for the EPS, Magnetometer and the on board watchdog timer. An all-weather man, the design of the Checkout LABVIEW interface was also a major contribution of his. His unique approach to all problems is what makes him an original contributor to the team.

Vinaykumar. S:

College: R. V. College of Engineering, Bangalore.
Involvement and Contribution to the team:
Commonly known as "Transmitter" among the teammates, Vinaykumar is a 3rd year student from R.V.C.E. He was one the persons responsible in developing the device drivers for the communication module. Considering that the RF design is one of the most difficult systems to test and design for, this transmitter-receiver pair of Vinay and Punarva had to undergo and involve in the team at its various design changes and upgradations because of the changes in the link margin.

Punarva. K:

College: R. V. College of Engineering, Bangalore.
Involvement and Contribution to the team:
Commonly known as the "Receiver" among the teammates, Punarva is a 3rd year student from R.V.C.E.

Thimmaiah. K:

College: R. V. College of Engineering, Bangalore.
Involvement and Contribution to the team:
Initially a member of the Communication team, his contribution during the design of the operating system to the On board Command and Data handling team is immense with his methodical approach to all problems. With his industry experience, he brought in a huge amount of the confidence to the team in its ability to handle such a complex autonomous system.

Raghavendra. S:

College: BMS Institute of Technology, Bangalore.
Involvement and Contribution to the team:
One of the initial contributors to the team, in its initial design stages wherein none of the complex systems or infrastructure were present to test any of the theoretical designs present at that stage. His expertise in dealing with complex systems, his methodical approach, his experience as a Open-source buff, his industry experience and his name 'Swamiji' brought in an aspect to the team unparalleled by anyone else.

Sudeep K. C:

College: Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bangalore.
Involvement and Contribution to the team:
A vital contributor in the initial design stages of the satellite, he has contributed in choosing of the various components of the satellite, most of which are exclusive to the project STUDSAT. His different approach to problems, brought in a unique perspective to all the design issues.

Structure:

Karthik G :

College: Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bangalore.
Involvement and Contribution to the team:
He was involved in the design with SolidWorks and Catia, Dynamic analysis and Qualification Tests. He played a vital role in fabrication of the satellite structure. His technical knowledge on the Dynamic analysis was put to full use. He was the trouble shooter for the qualification tests and put all his expertise to make sure the satellite passes the standard ISRO norms.

Arpan H.V:
